Join us for one of 2 showings of “The Shalllows.” The Mitchell Creek Marina theater will feature a 30-foot screen and your “seating” will be from the waters of Dale Hollow Lake. Movie time will begin around 8 p.m.
If you rent a cabin or houseboat for the weekend, there is no charge for Movies on the Water for the registered guests of your cabin or houseboat. There will be a limited number of cabins and houseboats available, and they are rented on a first come basis. We encourage you to rent now. Click here for online reservations.
We’re roping off a section of the Lake as your viewing area to watch the scariest water movie ever made from the waters of the lake.
Plan to arrive at about 5 p.m. in our off-site parking area to complete your check in, sign releases and board shuttles to the Marina waters. Those purchasing 4 or more tickets may be issued an onsite parking pass at the Check In site and will be allowed to park at the Marina providing all ticket holder moviegoers are in the vehicle
Here are the basic rules:
1) “The Shallows” is Rated PG – 13 for bloody images, intense sequences of peril, and brief strong language.
2) You must wear a U.S. Coast Guard rated life vest at all times during the movie.
3) You must have either a flotation tube OR purchase one of the Flotation Hammocks with your event ticket.
4) The path to the water is rocky AND the water is rocky. You will need sturdy water shoes!
4) Alcoholic Beverages are NOT allowed in the Theater area.
5) Minors 13-15 years old Must have an adult with them in the water.
The Movies on the Water crew wants to remind everyone that while Bull Sharks do exist in fresh water, there are no sharks in Dale Hollow Lake.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
Parking will be off site of Mitchell Creek Marina with shuttles taking you to the Marina. Plan to arrive about 3 hours early to assure you get checked in, turn in your releases and board a shuttle to the Marina.
People purchasing 4 tickets will be issued one parking pass to park onsite at the Marina providing all 4 movie goers are in the car. You will still need to check-in at the off site shuttle lot to to turn in your releases, pick up arm bands and any Hammocks you may have purchased with your tickets.
What can I bring into the event?
Every Movie Goer MUST wear a U.S. Coast Guard rated life vest at all times during the movie. You must also have a flotation tube OR you may purchase a Flotation Hammock as part of your ticket. What’s the refund policy?
The show will go on! There are no refunds. All sales are final. In the event of lightning events, showtimes may be delayed.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
You will need your ticket for check in.
